Who we are
The Tasmanian Live Performance Exchange (TLPX or “The Exchange”) is a new, incorporated, not-for-profit organisation designed to proactively represent the interests of Tasmania’s professional and independent theatre sector, and support initiatives that contribute to its sustainable growth. Our work embraces live and experimental theatre, dance and circus performance.
The Exchange is steered through the collaboration of Assembly 197, Mudlark, Performing Lines TAS, ROOKE, Terrapin, Theatre Royal, Theatre North and the University of Tasmania.
Stuart Loone, Chair of The Exchange said “Our steering committee brings together significant experience across the Tasmanian Performing Arts Sector, and a joint passion to build the industry for the benefit of the whole sector.”
The Exchange aims to harness individual and institutional skills and capabilities to build a strong, vibrant Tasmanian arts sector. We will focus on the needs of professional and vocational arts workers, consult deeply, and act strategically.
Currently, we are working towards the development of a 10-year plan.
This plan will be developed alongside the sector, with extensive consultation alongside benchmarking with National and International standards.
We exist to ensure performing artists are valued, those who work behind the scenes to enable the performing arts are supported, and our careers in this industry become longer, more viable, reliable and attractive to the next generation of artists and arts facilitators.
We Live Live Art.
